Hero Friday

Welcome back to Hero Friday. I hope you missed them as much as I did. Thank you for your patience and for returning after all this time. Before we get started with the next hero, I have an announcement. I'm moving, to wordpress. The next hero post will be at my new site http://www.elkefeuer.wordpress.com/. The next post will start there, so don't miss out. :-)

When thinking about this month’s hero, I wanted to pick someone who was not only well known but well liked, the type of hero who could be everything you needed. The charming, debonair boy next door who made your knees weak when he gave you his corky smile and make you laugh until you cried when he opened his mouth to speak. The man who made you drool when he took off his shirt after crashing through the window to save you, only to trip dramatically on the step and make you laugh again. He melts your heart with the passionate songs he sings to you and when he holds your children in his strong arms while he tickles them silly.
The first person that came to my mind was Will Smith. He’s sexy, adorable, funny, and still in love with his wife after all these years. Who wouldn’t want a hero like that?

He wasn't always an a-list actor. Back in the day, he was a rapper, Fresh Prince and his friend, DJ Jazzy Jeff with their hit song, Parents just don't understand. Like every other high-schooler at the time, I knew the words by heart. Even then, there was no mistaking his charisma and star quality. It was little wonder when Hollywood came knocking with his own sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. From there he went on to movie stardom in Independence Day, and the rest as they say is history.
So, who is your dream hero? The man you know would be everything for you? (Other than your husband, of course. :-)

  1. I've always liked Will Smith! I used to watch him on Fresh Prince of Bel Air. It's been enjoyable to watch him mature as an actor and person.

Hmmm...my dream hero? Not sure who he is yet but I've met some pretty great men who are heroes to their honeys!

  2. I love Will Smith! He always makes me smile whether it's his role on the Fresh Prince of Bel Air or just seeing his charismatic smile. He's even a bigger hero for me when you see him interact with his beautiful wife and children.

I'm not sure who my dream hero is...that's a tough one. I will say that my Dad was definitley my hero. He always reminded me of John Wayne and Redd Foxx. Tough guy with a great sense of humor and loved his family.

  3. Oh, Elke, I loved Will Smith in Independence Day--the first movie I ever really 'noticed' him. And he still is hero material. I think part of a hero is the devotion he shows his family.

Nice blog, BTW. I'll be looking for your new site! Good Luck.

  4. Will Smith is a likable guy and hero to his family.

Thanks for stopping by ladies. Look out for tips Tuesdays tomorrow on my new site and keep your eyes in the skies for next month's hero.

  5. Oh, Will Smith...yummy! I just saw an episode of "Fresh Prince" last week and forgot how sexy he was...especially during the Lisa days! I thought he was just one sexy teenage heart-throb, but then I found him in not just GREAT movies, but in really highly rated movies -- that's when I knew he was "somebody." There was once an article in Cosmo about Jada Pinkett-Smith, Will's wife, and she was talking about their sex life...wow! They do it on their kitchen counter, outside, their couch...the list goes on! And they even have children! Really?! Where is this kind of passion/romance/sex in the lives of "everyday" people?

Elke, great choice...Will is definitely a Hero and a Prince in my eyes!
